Interview: Technology Integration Using Microsoft Teams

  1. I might try Microsoft Teams and see if I can use it in my own class. The mindmap case study she shared close to the end of the interview is really a good example of how important it is for an instructor to be attentive and ready to adapt when integrating technology into curriculum (especially when the integration is not as successful and/or effective as planned). She is absolutely right that technology is not for everyone.....

    Good interview!

  2. So great to see this interview involving both you and Carli! As someone outside of higher education, and in the sphere of professional education sphere myself, I always appreciate hearing the perspectives and experiences of those working within professional educational spaces. And as a nonprofit employee, I always appreciate the perspective of someone finding a workable and affordable (preferably free) tool for reaching a desired outcome. Carli does a really great exploration of the logistical limitations of using Microsoft teams (I certainly know any time I'm able to copy over a format for the next iteration of something that is a huge benefit, and needing to completely re-set up the formatting for the next iteration of a course is not ideal, even if it is doable.) Your question addressing support structures for students that are available for students is very important, especially as we consider how usable these different technological tools are. Great interview!
